The Council of Professional Investigators – Ontario (CPIO), is a non-profit organization that seeks to further the interests of Private Investigators and Private Investigation Agencies licensed in the Province of Ontario. The CPIO hold regular professional development webinars and a Professional Development Day for our members to upgrade their skills, network with other professionals, and discuss mutual interests. Membership in the Council of Professional Investigators shows a commitment to professionalism and ongoing development.

Becoming a member of the CPIO provides corporate and individual benefits for the professional private investigator, including:

  • Increased awareness of the private investigative sector through networking events and industry partnerships
  • Collaboration and inter-agency connectivity
  • Sharing of best practices
  • Vendor partnerships that provide a range of discounts for equipment, Group Health Benefit Plans, national hotel chain discounts and travel benefits and
  • Providing a forum for the posting of employment opportunities as well as allow individual members to provide profiles / information in seeking employment

Your application will be reviewed and processed in due course and will be subject to the Board of Directors' approval. At quarterly meetings held during the calendar year. The CPIO reserves the right to ask for documentation of experience, licenses and proof of education and/or credentials.
